In times of fear for the future after Brexit, we support British workers and the trade union Unite in their fight for job security and workers rights.
Statement from Industri Energi:
Industri Energi, the Norwegian trade union for workers in the industry and energy sectors, want to express our support and solidarity with members of Unite during times of uncertainty and fear for the future for workers in the UK as a result of Brexit.
Jobs, core industries and prosperity of the UK rely heavily on access to the single market and membership of the customs union.This has to be a priority during the forthcoming negotiations, otherwise lot of jobs may vanish.
Just as important is retaining employment rights and the right of working people to a safe workplace. In these times employers may seek to use Brexit as an excuse to reduce employment and attack workers’ rights, pay and conditions.
Strong trade unions are of vital importance to secure jobs and rights for the workers and press the Government to make this a priority. Industri Energi stands together with British unions in this fight!
