“Industri Energi supports Unite and RMT in another strike for 48 hours from August 4th, says President Leif Sande.” He urges all Unions to give their support to Unite and RMT.
It will follow the strike on July 26th. Industri Energi understand that this is the first series of strikes in a generation on the North Sea by Unite.
As a Union we fully supports the action in response to attempts by Wood Group to cut pay and allowances by 30 %. We are aware of that this is the third time that Wood Group have brought forward proposals on cuts.
Wood Group should consider that Unite and RMT is ready for new discussions. As Tony Burke, assistant General Secretary writes:
“Unite and RMT remain committed to achieving a negotiated settlement in this dispute and will leave the door open for Wood Group to enter into meaningful negotiations”.
The 48 hour strike will be taken across the Shell assets in the Brent Field at the following platforms: Shearwater, Gannet, Nelson, Curlew, Brent Alpha, Brent Bravo and Brent Charlie.
