Styrke in Aker: Join us in securing the future of Norway’s oil and gas industry
The Norwegian continental shelf stands at a crossroads. With project lists running empty, it is crucial to launch new projects and exploration drilling to ensure future discoveries of oil and gas. – We need to initiate new projects to maintain activity and secure jobs, says Frode Alfheim, leader of Forbundet Styrke.
During a debate hosted by Styrke at Aker BP and Aker Solutions in Stavanger, Energy Minister Terje Aasland, former Energy Minister Tina Bru, and top executives from Aker BP and Aker Solutions gathered to discuss the future of the Norwegian continental shelf.

Union leader Frode Alfheim emphasized the importance of increasing exploration drilling and further developing Norway’s supplier industry.
– It is a testament to our strength as a union that we can bring together top leaders and politicians across parties and companies to discuss crucial issues about the industry’s future, says Alfheim.
– We will continue to be world leaders in health, safety, and environmental standards while embracing new technology, he says and adds:
– And to achieve even greater influence for employees and the industry, we need more people on board. Together, we are stronger.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has changed Europe’s energy needs. The EU now expects Norway to contribute more energy.
– The Norwegian continental shelf has never been more important, says Alfheim.
